Stay strong - words of encouragement

“For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthains 12:10.

I memorized this verse to give to people when they need it. Even a non-Christian can learn something valuable from this. This is saying that all the struggles we go through are not pointless and in vain. Being weak is not a failure, it does not make you a bad person. It means you’re human! Being weak, accepting & knowing that you’re weak, builds character……it builds humility and it humbles you. Just as an olive tree needs to pruned and cut all the way down to a stump, so new shoots can grow out and produce new olives. So then you can grow and start to change. To be strong, first you have to be weak. And we’re all weak at some point, the key is to know we’re weak and start to grow and change. This verse has taught me after sitting on my bathroom floor and weeping, that I couldn’t live like that anymore. (I’ve come a long way since then.) Most importantly, I learned that there is somebody out there that loves me enough to take me where I am, in my mess of mistakes, and want to help me.

I may look like a fool but I have love in my heart
